The newly appointed Chief
of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, had resigned
as Chairman of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development
(SCDDD).
Gambari, a fulani, from Kwara State was appointed after the chief of staff, Abba Kyari died of COVID-19 on the April 17.

Amb. Abdullahi Omaki, the
Executive Supervisor of the Centre, announces Prof. Gambari’s resignation. In a statement from Amb.
Abdullahi, he was surrendering his appointment to avoid disputes of passion.
This is a normal procedure
considering the fact he is now holding a political Position now, he also took
this step to avoid backlash from different channels in the country.
