NEWS FLASH: Newly Appointed Chief Of Staff Resigns

The newly appointed Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, had resigned as Chairman of the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development (SCDDD). 

Gambari, a fulani, from Kwara State was appointed after the chief of staff, Abba Kyari died of COVID-19 on the April 17.

Amb. Abdullahi Omaki, the Executive Supervisor of the Centre, announces Prof. Gambari’s resignation. In a statement from Amb. Abdullahi, he was surrendering his appointment to avoid disputes of passion.

This is a normal procedure considering the fact he is now holding a political Position now, he also took this step to avoid backlash from different channels in the country.

A NEW CHIEF OF STAFF TO BE UNVEILED

Rumour going round the social media that President Muhammadu has appointed Prof. Agboola Gambari as his new chief of staff to replace the late Abba Kyari who died on 17 April after testing positive to Corona virus.

He is currently the founder/chairman of Savannah Center External link in Abuja, a think-tank for research, training and public policy debate on the nexus between diplomacy (conflict resolution), democracy and development in Africa. Prof. Gambari, a Nigerian scholar, diplomat and an indigene of Kwara State.

According to Vanguard, Prof. Gambari will be presented during the virtual meeting of the federal executive council (FEC) on Wednesday.

The spokes person to the to the presidency, Mallam Garba Shehu reacted to the rumour via an online media, Daily Post that he is yet to receive the brief, therefore, he is not aware.
